1. CO2 laser – Rohrer Phoenix
a. What is CO2 laser?
i. CO2 laser is a type of laser that uses a gas mixture containing carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce a beam of infrared light. The CO2 laser resurfacing treatment is a cosmetic procedure to remove damaged outer layers of skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars, sun damage, and other skin imperfections. By removing the damaged skin cells, new skin cells are stimulated to grow. This results in smoother and tighter skin.
b. What can I use it for?
i. Face
ii. Hands
c. What should I expect for pre and post-treatment?
i. Before the CO2 treatment, it is best to begin hydrating at least two days in advance to enhance the skin’s response to the laser and support faster recovery. Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to the procedure to reduce skin sensitivity and the risk of irritation. Refrain from alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before the procedure, as it can increase swelling, bruising, and bleeding during or after treatment.
ii. After the treatment, swelling is normal. To help minimize it, keep your head elevated, even while sleeping, or several days. Cleanse your skin with a mild, gentle cleanser, and apply Aquaphor or any other moisturizer provided by our team to keep the skin consistently moist. Continue to stay hydrated and avoid sun exposure and alcohol during the recovery period to support optimal healing.
