Melasma and Tattoo Removal

1. PicoLazer

a. What is PicoLazer?
i. PicoLazer is a non-thermal solution for the reduction and removal of tattoos and pigmentation. It delivers ultra-short bursts of energy in picoseconds, effectively breaking down pigment without damaging the surrounding tissue.
ii. As part of a new generation of aesthetic lasers, PicoLazer does not rely solely on heat to burn or melt away unwanted body art or pigmentation that causes dark spots in the skin. The minimal heat involved means less tissue damage and reduced discomfort during treatment.

b. Is PicoLazer Safe?
i. PicoLazer’s ultra-fast pulse duration generates minimal heat, which reduces damage to the surrounding skin and lowers the risk of injury.
c. What Should I Expect During a PicoLazer Procedure?
i. When you visit Prestige MedSpa for your PicoLazer treatment, your experience will begin with a personalized consultation to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. PicoLazer can treat a wide variety of benign pigmented lesions so it’s very likely that PicoLazer could work for you! Once a treatment plan is established, the procedure will begin with cleansing and numbing the treatment area to ensure your comfort. When treating pigmented lesions, most patients report the procedure as having very little discomfort and the noise will sound like mild “zaps” as the laser breaks down the pigment.
ii. The length of the procedure depends on the size of the treatment area, but the entire process typically takes about an hour. Recovery time and the number of treatments needed can vary from patient to patient.

2. IPL
a. What is IPL?
i. IPL uses integrated PCR (Pulse Configured Rhythm) technology, offering control and adaptability. With its ability to generate a variety of pulse shapes and adjustable durations, it effectively targets any skin type or condition with precision and comfort.
b. What Can IPL Do For You?
i. With IPL’s advanced PCR technology, all skin types can be treated.
1. Skin rejuvenation: Revitalize your skin, improving texture, tone, and appearance.
2. Vascular & Pigmented Lesions: Reduce the appearance of redness, broken capillaries, and sunspots.
3. Acne Clearance: Clear up acne with targeted treatments that promote healthier skin.
4. Hair Removal: Achieve smooth, hair-free skin with long-lasting results.
c. What Can I Expect During an IPL Treatment?
i. Before beginning the treatment, a consultation will be initiated to determine your skin needs and goals. Once a customized treatment plan is made for you, the procedure can begin. The treatment area is cleansed and you will be given eye protection for safety. A clear ultrasound gel is applied onto the treatment area, then the IPL device is used. The IPL has a built-in contact cooling system that provides cooling before, during and after each pulse to provide the most comfortable experience possible. Treatment time can vary depending on the treatment area and targeted skin concern with a range of 10 to 40 minutes. Results can differ for each person, but many patients notice improvement after the first session. The total number of treatment sessions will be determined by our providers based on your goals and progress.
